Although I wasn't sure I could handle the 5 course degustation menu, the food and pacing of the meal was absolutely spot on. Zin does an amazing job of showcasing the best of local Spring produce. The Lowe Rose was spot on as was the relaxed warmth from knowledgeable front of house team. Will definitely be back.

The food was outstanding. Succeeding in it's goal to highlight local producers with creativity and flair. I was nervous that the food would be boring after reading on the website that food was simple, with no foams, deconstruction etc but each dish was interesting and well executed.

We left feeling excited to return and so much more familiar with the food and wine produced in this wonderful region.

The communal dining and warm, personable service as well as the location in the converted family home of the vineyards owners make for a unique and relaxed vibe, like a flash dinner at friend's house where nobody has to cook or clean up!

The Zin House is magical; beautiful surroundings, homely atmosphere, warm, welcoming staff and the food is exquisite. We had the 6 course set menu and each course was as delicious as the last, carefully selected ingredients cooked perfectly. I especially enjoyed that the menu is not heavy on meat (as is often the case with this style of restaurant) and that after 6 courses (and an incredible matching wine flight- highly recommend) you leave feeling well fed but not uncomfortably full. I look forward to a return visit- a must for anyone in Mudgee!

Absolutely incredible! I still talk about the food. Definitely a must do when in Mudgee. They use locally grown seasonal produce to make incredible meals. Highly recommended- you won't be disappointed!

If I could give this review more stars I would! It deserves every star possible! Greeted with a personal introduction at the door, the meal was delivered masterfully by our waiter (Brian, thankyou again!) and served expertly by no less than 4 different people throughout the night. The 5 course meal was fresh from the garden, flavourful, and somehow tastier with every course! A true gem, don't miss it if you have the opportunity!

Our meal at Zin House was the best dining experience of this kind we have experienced. Knowledgeable staff were warm and disarming, very responsive to interest in the story of the ingredients or wines and full of a wealth of information. The sommelier in particular made sure we got the most out of each stage of the wine flights, dropping by the table to chat even if he wasn't available to pour for that course.

Often dining at restaurants that focus on supporting local producers and showcasing local, seasonal ingredients is a bit off a trade off. The self imposed limitations mean food and wine offerings may not be as "perfect" as other venues.
